Hiking the Pine Ridge Trail in Big Sur, CA

From February 27th through March 1st Susanna and I were lucky enough to take some time off and hike and camp along the Pine Ridge Trail in Big Sur, CA (~19.2 miles). Our first day hiking the rain poured but we were prepared. The rivers and streams were a bit muddy from all the run off but the scenery was still beautiful. And there was plenty of greenery to take in. During our first day we hiked about 5.3 miles to the Barlow Flat Campground. On day 2 to we completed a day hike (~4.3 miles one way from Barlow Flat, 8.6 miles round trip) to Sykes Camp and spent some time relaxing in the hot springs just downstream from the camps. For our third day we hiked back out to the trailhead and enjoyed the scenic ride along the coast on our way back to Yuba City were are littles ones were waiting for us.
