Wonders

I know this is not related to backpacking, but I felt like this was worth sharing. These videos remind me of the wonders of the natural world. In the first video I found the whale sharks and manta-rays particularly amazing. The second video fills me with anticipation as I am preparing to leave on Sunday to hike the Teton Crest trail.

If only we take the time to observe we will be surprised by all the natural world has to offer. So enjoy the wonders captured by these videos. The music is quite relaxing too. (These are high definition videos so if your internet is a bit slow just pause the video for a second and wait for it to load. Then you can watch and listen without interruption. I also recommend watching these videos in full screen.)

Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail to Paradise Lake

On June 29th -30th I hiked the PCT to Paradise Lake in the beautiful Northern Sierras. Paradise Lake is located several miles north of Castle Peak. The trailhead is located near Truckee, CA near the Boreal ski resort parking lot. The trip is about 16 miles or so out and back. A couple of years ago Susanna and I hiked the trip together. While, I missed having her along for the fun this time my dad and an old friend (Karl) enjoyed the trail and the lake's beauty with me.
